Prince Charming Award.

After the successful re-awakening of Surveyor 1 after the long lunar night, Tidbinbilla Station Director Bob Leslie (right) presents “The Prince Charming Award” to Paddy Johnstone (left) and Hal French, Surveyor Ops Chief.

Paddy sent the command which woke the spacecraft. (There had been a competition to see which station was successful. It was DSS-42 Tidbinbilla!)

Thanks to Hal’s son, Jim French, for the photo.
