Deakin Apollo 11 Plaque

Unveiled July 2019

On Friday 19 July 2019, as part of the Apollo 11 50th anniversary celebrations in Canberra, a plaque was unveilled which would be later installed at the Deakin Telephone Exchange.

Senior Telstra Engineering Executive and Chairman of Heritage Telstra, Mr David Pilz, was the main driver for the plaque. He addressed the gathering at ANU.

Other speakers included Mrs Margaret Reid, Mike Dinn, John Westbrook (son of Kevyn Westbrook), and Mr Mick Gentleman MLA.
