Cyclone “Elsie” – 22 January 1967


In preparation for the arrival of Cyclone “Elsie” station staff secured the earth station on 19 January 1967. All debris which might be carried through the air by the wind was removed and the antenna was secured with steel hawsers to twelve concrete blocks.
