Applications Technology Satellite – Program Summary

The Applications Technology Satellite Program was a groundbreaking technology demonstration program which paved the way for many modern applications we take for granted.

It was the reason for the establishment of the Cooby Creek station in Queensland.

This undated booklet from the Goddard Space Flight Center doesn’t cover the entire program – it seems to have been published between the launches of ATS-3 (November 1967) and ATS-4 (August 1968) – nevertheless, it’s a very useful summary of the aims of ATS.
