50th anniversary of Apollo 11

July 2019 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the first manned lunar landing.

As well as the events being organised for trackers and their families and for others involved in Apollo 11, there are a number of events around Canberra which are open to the general public.

The Australian National University, as part of their Moon Week, has produced a comprehensive and very helpful booklet. Download your copy below.

There are events and displays at Canberra Deep Space Communication Centre (Tidbinbilla), the National Museum of Australia, ANU, Questacon, Geoscience Australia, and more.

As well, there are community film screenings, and opportunities to see lunar samples returned during the Apollo Program.
