Apollo USB Modes

John Saxon has supplied these scans of USB configurations from a plastic ‘cheat sheet’ of the Goddard Space Flight Center Apollo modes – used at the Ops Console at Honeysuckle.

He says, “The card was produced specially for the J missions.” It is dated May 1971.

John writes, “This is more or less the info on the GSFC cheat sheets but (in my opinion) a more readable form. The diagrams were drawn by Neil Sandford and posted in the HOD (Honeysuckle Ops Directives).”

Downlink Signal Spectra

During Apollo 15 EVA 3, Neil Sandford took these Polaroid photos of the spectra of various configurations – they give a hint of the complexity of the USB downlink.
